Pro Tip: Don’t tell depressed people how good they have it in comparison to others. They already know and already feel guilty about it. You’re making the problem worse.

It makes me laugh every time people accuse Disney of being racist in their movies because Disney is literally the most innocent media company for that they try so hard to represent all ethnicities
“I used to think I was tough, but then I realized I wasn’t. I was fragile and I wore thick fucking armor. And I hurt people so they couldn’t hurt me. And I thought that was what being tough was, but it isn’t.”

Reblog If You Are In The United States and It’s Freakin’ Cold Where You are
There is something wrong with the weather when the city of San Francisco is warmer than the rest of the Bay Area.
It’s currently 44ish degrees (around 8 degrees Celcius) around here. It’s Arizona. I’ve had to have the heat on.
If you know anything about Arizona, you know why this is bizarre.
Allies are really under-appreciated by transgender people and the LGB community. Straight and cis people might even be more important in the fight for equality, because without the support of majority groups, your movement will go nowhere. Being trans and hating cis people will only cause them to become transphobic. Being gay or bi and hating straight people will only cause them to become homophobic. Let’s be realistic for once.
Let’s be realistic; allies like this are abusive and manipulative. “You wouldn’t get anywhere without us! Even though we didn’t care about you or support you until you already fought for decades for the barest recognition!”
Allies like this, who believe it’s so important that cishet allies are recognized and revered within the LGBT (which they conveniently left the ‘T’ off of their first attempt at the acronym, how cute) community, are not allies. They’re bandwagoners who want us to pat them on the back for doing the bare minimum of not telling LGBT folks to go die.
And even that vanishes the second they’re called out on their shitty behavior.
You know what causes cishet people to be homophobic? Deciding to be homophobic. No one else can force them to hate someone else unless they choose to ignore their privilege and the suffering that the very group they presume to represent and support goes through.
….So yeah. [Imitates crying sarcastically].
